Frequently asked questions

General

All-inclusive?

That is our starting point. If you have a request we haven’t thought about, we will happily include it.

We don’t want you to worry about anything else than riding your bike in this unique location. We take care of everything from the moment you arrive at the aiport until you fly back home.

During our video-call we will talk about your wishes and what we can offer. We will send you our proposal accordingly.

Are these cycling trips suitable for all?

We love cycling and believe it should be accesible for all, even in Oman. At the same time cycling in a country like this requires certain experience and physical fitness on the bike. We will discuss possibilities and challenges during our video call.

Is Oman a suitable and safe cycling destination?

Oman has good quality roads. Outside of the larger cities these roads are low-traffic and suitable for cyclists. We share the road with cars, since cyclists are not common here. Your safety is of the utmost importance to us. Your guide and the support car are well prepared to safely guide and protect you during the trip.

Where can I find the routes?

The route will be based on the length of the trip and wishes of the group. The amount of days affects the route and we adjust it according to your wishes.

Routes will be shared (.gpx files) prior to the start of the trip in order for all participants to upload the routes to their respective GPS-computers.

What is it like for women in Oman?

Oman is a Muslim country with an open mindset. It has developed itself rapidly over the last few years and is investing heavily into tourism. Tourists from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds have found their way to Oman and will feel welcome. Local Omani living in remote places are not accustomed to seeing cyclists, let alone women on bicycles. In our experience this doesn’t prevent them from showing us the kindness and hospitality known to them.

If and when we visit religious or traditional sites we will be asked to cover up out of respect. This is true for both men and women.

Will you be able to cater for those with allergies or other dietary wishes?

Of course! During the video-call we will discuss this matter and we will do whatever we can to cater to your dietary needs.

Algemeen

Is it possible to include other activities?

Oman offers a wide variety of activites to enjoy. A few examples are; cultural excursions (think about forts, castles, traditional markets), hiking and swimming in wadi’s, canyonning and enjoying ourselves at the swimming pool. Cycling will always remain the focal point of the trips we offer.

Do I need to train?

We think it is necessary that participants have a good basic level of fitness. Dependent on the route we will advise on the proper preparation needed.

Do you provide bikepacking experiences too?

Yes, we love bikepacking.

Do you ever look at cyclists that are able to travel the world in a year? Would you like to have a similar experience, but you only have a few weeks to spare? Oman is perfectly fit for bikepacking excursions. Do you want to carry your equipment on the bike or rather in a support car? We can provide you with all you need to discover Oman and its beautiful nature. You only have to turn off that phone!

What are the cost involved?

The cost of our tours depend on your wishes. Cycling tours in an exclusive country like Oman are not cheap, just consider the flight you have to take to get here. At the same time Oman isn’t a low budget destination. Without flight our tours cost in the range of $900 to $2350 per person. The total amount depends on your wishes and the final groupsize.

What is included and what is not?

Our aim is to provide everything you need. Some things are excluded. Think about: Flights, (travel)insurance and spare parts for your bike.

What about payment, cancellations and other terms and conditions?

For more information about costs, payment and cancellations please read our Terms and Conditions
